For the love of animals

Presley is an animal lover, much like other children her age. She has many, many, many stuffed animals, most of which sleep with her. She typically has a favorite, but the favorite changes every so often. Ellie, the elephant has been the favorite for some time. A few days ago, Presley went down for a nap with Ellie and woke up with a new favorite animal, a Tiger appropriately named Tigger. She told me Ellie had passed away, like her Grandmother Josie. Disterbering I know! Tigger did not last long as the favorite, she was replaced by a peguin we bought at our trip to Sea World last summer. The peguin had been lost under her bed for some time, Presley found it when she was cleaning out everything under her bed. She told me everything she found, which was a lot, and that she found absolutely no monsters under her bed, which we are grateful for!

We have been watching the Lion King lately. Presley has decided she would like to go on an airplane to Africa to go on a safari so she can see all the animals in person, in particular the hyena. Not sure why she is so attached to the hyena. My best guess is that Whoopi Goldberg did such a great job that she made hyenas seem lovable and funny. So we have had much hyena talk, safari talk, getting on an airplane talk around our house. She wants to know when we will be going. I know we will not be able to swing that anytime soon, but I think a trip to Fossil Rim in Glen Rose will be very soon!
